Similar to other posts that show how Columbus has been changing, the link below from the site Urb-I has hundreds of before and after worldwide photos of streetscape changes. Columbus itself is not included, but perhaps that can be changed as the site allows anyone to submit images.
In an occasional series, I will be attempting to answer questions or provide information based on popular searches on the site. In today’s addition, I will talk retail. I get a lot of searches for Columbus malls and shopping destinations. I had to think about the best way to tackle this, because Columbus has so much retail- it’s considered to be one of the best cities per-capita for shopping.
Here is just a straight list of some of the major centers with all information I could find, as well as a Google Map location.

This kind of post seems obligatory at this time of year. I thought about making just one big post, but there was so much that happened this year that I decided to break it up by month. This won’t include every single piece of news, of course, but rather just the highlights. First up is the January 2014 review.
Weather January 2014 continued what December 2013 had started. Snowfall was nearly 2x above normal and temperatures were almost 7 degrees below normal. The month tied for the 15th coldest January and the 16th snowiest. The coldest low was -11 and the low hit 0 or below 7 times, the most since 1994. The biggest snow event occurred on the 25th-26th with 8.3″. This was the 10th largest January snowstorm of all time. Snow depth reached at least 1″ on 19 days.
For this update, I’m going to do things a bit differently. In previous updates, I have done long ranking lists and it got to be a bit overwhelming. So starting with this update, I’m going to do more charts instead.
In any case, August continued the year-long trend of home sales being down, with the month coming in at more than 11% off from the same time last year. Prices, however, were up more than 6% to reach a monthly record. There continues to be a supply problem, which is the main mechanism driving both lower sales and higher prices.
