Planned Projects

Agler Road
2026- New Infrastructure: Agler Road: $1.2 Million
The project scope constructs sidewalks along Agler Rd from Sunbury Rd to Cassady Rd, along Sunbury Rd from Agler Rd north to Mifflin Middle School, and on Cassady Ave from Agler Rd north to Cassady Alternative Elementary School. This includes the installation of sidewalks, curb ramps, signing and pavement markings, and incidental improvements such as drainage, and maintenance of traffic.

Avery Road
2028- New/Renovation Infrastructure: Avery Road: $15 Million
This project will reconstruct and widen Avery Road from the CSX railroad tracks to Avery Run Road. There will be a roundabout at Avondale Woods Boulevard and a traffic signal at the intersection of Lexi Lane and Castlefinn Drive. The reconstructed roadway will be converted to a curb and gutter section with the addition of a 10’ wide shared use path along the east side, sidewalk along the west side, street lighting, and street trees. The anticipated lane configuration is two through lanes in each direction with a two-way left turn lane or dedicated left turns at intersections. The final traffic control configuration will be determined via traffic analysis.
South of the railroad tracks, the existing roadway section is not anticipated to be modified with the exception of lane control modifications. Sidewalk will be extended south of the railroad tracks to Winters Run Road. Other complete street improvements south of the tracks will be determined in design following coordination with City of Hilliard and Franklin County.

Barnett Road
2026- New Infrastructure: Barnett Road: $850,000
The project scope consists of constructing sidewalks along the east side of Barnett Rd from Astor Ave to Main St. The installation of the sidewalk will include curb ramps, drive approaches, resurfacing, and may include storm water drainage improvements in select areas as well as incidental improvements traffic control, and maintenance of traffic.

Broad Street
2027- Renovation Infrastructure: East Broad Street: $16.2 Million
This is the second phase of a major widening project to construct new through and turn lanes of various configurations in the East Broad Street corridor from the east side of the I-270 interchange to the intersection of E. Broad Street and Reynoldsburg-New Albany Road. This second phase will construct new pavement for the widening and resurfacing of the existing pavement from Outerbelt Street to Reynoldsburg-New Albany Road and will include traffic signal improvements; addition of a shared use path, sidewalk, street lighting, street trees, signal interconnect conduit; and incidental improvements such as drainage, traffic control, sediment and erosion control, water adjustments, and maintenance of traffic.
2028- Renovation Infrastructure: West Broad Street: Unknown
This project consists of 9.3 miles of roadway improvements on Broad Street to include 5.5 miles of dedicated-guideway bus rapid transit (BRT) and 3.8 miles of mixed-traffic BRT, a portion of which is located outside the City of Columbus.

Busch Boulevard
2024- New/Renovation Infrastructure: Busch Boulevard: $1.36 Million
The purpose of this project is to maintain the roadway and add bike lane connectivity from SR-161 to Schrock Rd. This is a City of Columbus and Ohio Department of Transportation Partner Project. The project will include repaving of the mainline travel lanes, adding bike lanes along Busch Blvd, spot curb replacement and installation of ADA compliant curb ramps where needed.

Cassady Avenue
2026- Renovation Infrastructure: Cassady Avenue: $11 Million
Cassady Avenue improvements consist of the full reconstruction of the roadway to a 3-lane, curb and gutter section with additional turn lanes at the intersection with E. 5th Avenue. Sidewalk will be placed along the east side and a shared use path along the west side. Additional improvements include traffic signal replacement, street lighting, street trees where feasible, and storm sewer. Electric distribution and water line systems are anticipated to be impacted. The 12″ water line between Avalon Place and E. 5th Avenue will be replaced with a new 12″ line.
E. 5th Avenue improvements consist of roadway reconstruction with additional turn lanes at the intersection with Cassady Avenue. The sidewalk will be replaced along both sides and lighting and utility systems replaced/relocated as necessary. Additional improvements include street lighting, street trees where feasible, and storm sewer. Electric distribution and water line systems are anticipated to be impacted. The water services from the existing 2″ water line between N. Dawson Avenue and Northview Avenue will be transferred to the existing 12″ water line and the 2″ line abandoned.

Courtright Road
2024- New Infrastructure: Courtright Road: $1.8 Million
This project consists of installing new sidewalk along both sides of Courtright Road between Refugee Road and Groves Road to fill gaps within the pedestrian network. Sidewalk limits will be generally from Refugee Road to Westpoint Drive and from Courtright Lane (a private road) to Groves Road. Curb and storm sewer will be installed as needed.

Downtown (General)
2025- New Infrastructure: Downtown Area: Columbus Capital Line: Unknown

This project is described as “a 2-mile loop, exclusive to pedestrian and bike traffic,” that would be “dotted with public art and other experiences.” The exact form of this loop, whether elevated or on roadways, is unclear at the time of posting.

Dresden Street
2025- New Infrastructure: Dresden Street: $750,000
This project scope consists of constructing sidewalks along the west side of Dresden Street from East Hudson Street to Weber Road. Installation of the sidewalk will include curb ramps, drive approaches, curb, retaining walls, and may include stormwater drainage improvements in select areas.

Georgesville Road
2025- Renovation Infrastructure: Georgesville Road: $1.6 Million
This project consists of the widening of Georgesville Road to provide a southbound right turn lane onto Hall Road, widening of Hall Road to provide an eastbound right turn lane onto Georgesville Road, and the full reconstruction of the traffic signal at the intersection. In addition, a shared use path will be installed along the south side of Hall Road from Durrow Drive (Private Street)/Georgesville Green Drive to Georgesville Road. Where needed to accommodate the shared use path, curb and gutter will be placed and a closed drainage system installed.
2026- New Infrastructure: Georgesville Road: $3.5 Million
This project consists of installing a new shared use path (SUP) along the east side of Georgesville Road from Parkwick Drive to Sullivant Avenue (south leg, west of Georgesville). In addition to the SUP, the project will install curb ramps, drive aprons, sidewalk along the west side of Georgesville Road at select locations, street lighting, and curb and storm sewer as needed. This project will also install sidewalk and curb ramps along the north side of Parkwick Drive to fill gaps between Georgesville Road and Bay Club Drive. The striping configuration and pavement width at the bridge over Scioto Big Run will be modified to provide a narrower roadway section in order to accommodate a shared use path along the east side and sidewalk along the west side. Additionally, Georgesville Road will be resurfaced from the north side of the Georgesville Road bridge over IR-270 to the City of Columbus corporation limit north of Camp Chase Railroad crossing.

Grace Street
2024- New Infrastructure: Grace Street: $2.7 Million
This project will install sidewalks along Grace Street between Orel Avenue and Eureka Avenue. The sidewalks will be located as follows: From Orel Ave to Warren Ave the sidewalk will be installed on the south side of Grace Street and from Warren Ave to Eureka Ave the sidewalk will be located along the north side of Grace Street.

Greenlawn Avenue
2025- New/Renovation Infrastructure: Greenlawn Avenue: $2.8 Million
This project consists of geometric and mobility improvements to the intersections of Greenlawn Avenue at S. Front Street and S. High Street at Greenlawn Avenue/Thurman Avenue. The road alignment will be improved so the intersection isn’t offset and motorists will be able to turn left onto High Street from Thurman Ave or Greenlawn Ave. This project will include traffic signal improvements, addition of a shared use path, sidewalk, and signal interconnect. This project will also include incidental improvements such as drainage, traffic control, sediment and erosion control, waterline relocation, and maintenance of traffic.

Hamilton Road
2026- Renovation Infrastructure: Hamilton Road: $19.1 Million
This project will widen Hamilton Road from SR161 to Central College Road and install roundabouts along Hamilton Road at Heathland Lane/Walton Breck Way and at Warner Road. The project will also include a shared-use path to be installed on the east side of Hamilton Road from Dublin-Granville Road to Central College Road, with a sidewalk on the west side of Hamilton Road from Dublin-Granville Road to Central College Road. Additionally, the project will include street lighting and associated stormwater drainage improvements

Hiawatha Park Drive
2024- New/Renovation Infrastructure: Hiawatha Park Drive: $2 Million
This project consists of the design and construction of pedestrian and bikeway improvements along Hiawatha Park Drive from its southern terminus at the intersection with Silver Drive/Velma Avenue south of I-71 to E. Hudson Street. A shared-use path will be added on the east side of Hiawatha Park Drive within the project limits. Sidewalk will also be added on the west side of Hiawatha Park Drive within the project limits wherever sidewalk does not currently exist or is in disrepair.

Indianola Avenue
2024- Renovation Infrastructure: Indianola Avenue: $1.98 Million
The purpose of this project is to maintain the roadway and continue bike lane connectivity from Summit Street at Hudson Street to Oakland Park Ave. This is a City of Columbus and Ohio Department of Transportation Partner Project. The project will include repaving of the mainline travel lanes, reconfiguring the existing travel lanes to add bike lanes along Indianola Ave. The work also includes construction of curb extensions at designated locations, spot curb replacement and installation of ADA compliant curb ramps where needed.

International Gateway

Linden and Northland Neighborhoods
2026- New Recreation: Rail Corridor between Windsor Avenue and Cooper Road: Linden GreenLine Rail to Park Conversion: Unknown
The Linden and Northland Communities of Columbus are one of the region’s most underserved areas for parks, open spaces, and natural areas. The purpose of the Linden GreenLine Project is to provide a new approximately 58 acre linear park stretching along seven miles of an abandoned rail corridor, from Windsor Park near 17th Avenue to Cooper Park in the Northland Community. The rail corridor is privately owned, for sale, and acquiring the property provides a generational opportunity for over 131,000 residents living nearby in an effort to create a unique large-scale linear park through a dense inner city community. The Linden GreenLine will utilize the longest abandoned corridor in Columbus, with an average width of 80 feet. This grant application is for acquisition funding only.

Maple Canyon Avenue
2024- New/Renovation Infrastructure: Maple Canyon Avenue
This is the first phase of improvements planned for SR 161 from I-71 to Cleveland Ave corridor. This limits of this phase are along Maple Canyon Ave North and South of SR 161. These improvements will include the addition of pedestrian and bike facilities, new traffic signals, pavement widening & resurfacing with raised medians with urban roundabouts on Maple Canyon Ave.

Marconi Boulevard
2025- Renovation Infrastructure: Marconi Boulevard: 2-Way Conversion: Unknown

Medina Avenue
2025- New Infrastructure: Medina Avenue: $750,000
This project scope consists of constructing sidewalks along the west side of Medina Avenue from Linden Park Drive to Weber Road. Installation of the sidewalk will include curb ramps, drive approaches, curb, retaining walls, and may include stormwater drainage improvements in select areas.

Refugee Road
2024- New Infrastructure: Refugee Road: $3.1 Million
This project scope consists of constructing sidewalk along the north side of Refugee Road from Noe-Bixby Road to Blue Moon Drive and the south side of Refugee Road from Noe-Bixby Road to the existing sidewalk just west of Glenbriar Street. Installation of the sidewalk will include curb ramps, drive approaches, curb, and may include stormwater drainage improvements in select areas.

Sancus Boulevard
2027- New/Renovation Infrastructure: Sancus Boulevard: $8.7 Million
This project consists of design of complete street improvements to Sancus Boulevard from Worthington Woods Boulevard to Lazelle Road. Improvements include pavement widening to add a center turn lane where necessary, pavement rehabilitation, shared use path, sidewalk, traffic signal replacements, and street lighting. This task order contract also includes design of 540002-100113 Bikeway – Sancus Boulevard SUP – Worthington-Galena Road to Worthington Woods Boulevard.

Second Avenue
2024- Renovation Infrastructure: 2nd Avenue: $6.1 Million
This project is situated primarily within Columbus’ Milo-Grogan neighborhood. The project improves 2nd Avenue from approximately 6th Street to St. Claire Avenue. This project will replace the deteriorating sidewalk, curb and curb ramps within the project limits. New curb extensions will be constructed along the north side of 2nd Avenue to better define the travel and parking lanes. The curb extensions will shorten the distance the pedestrian will have to cross the roadway and will provide more visibility to the traveling motorist that there is a pedestrian crossing. Between 6th Avenue and Grant Avenue, this project will repair existing retaining walls, construct new cast in place retaining walls as needed or remove the walls where grading provides this feasibility. Permeable pavers with underground storage will be installed in the parking lane and will improve the existing drainage conditions. New lighting throughout the corridor with underground circuits including pedestrian lighting. 2nd Avenue will be resurfaced with new striping. Painted bike sharrows with be provided along 2nd Avenue from 4th Street to St. Claire Avenue.

Sinclair Road
2024- Renovation Infrastructure: Sinclair Road: $3.1 Million
This project scope consists of installing new sidewalk along both sides of Sinclair Road from Morse Road to Strimple Avenue. Uncurbed portions of Sinclair Road will be revised to improve stormwater conveyance. To accomplish the above goals; the project will impact, require improvements to, or require new facilities of the following for at least a portion of the project limits: pavement, curb, roadside grading, shoulders, ADA facilities, maintenance of traffic, traffic control, utilities and stormwater facilities, and temporary and permanent right‐of‐way acquisition.

Souder Avenue
2025- New Infrastructure/Recreation: Souder Avenue between W. Broad Street and Dublin Road: Multi-Use Trail and Bridge: $5 Million

Projects Under Construction

Front Street
2024- Renovation Infrastructure: Front Street: $9.4 Million
This project consists of converting Front Street from Broad Street to Hickory Street and Marconi Boulevard from Broad Street to Spring Street to two-way operation. Upgrade all signals within the project limits to decorative downtown standard. Project includes installation of new granite curb, buff wash sidewalk, street and pedestrian lighting, enhanced pedestrian crossings and landscaping beds.

Northtowne Boulevard
2024- New Infrastructure: Northtowne Boulevard: $540,000
This project will install sidewalk and fill in gaps along both sides of Northtowne Boulevard from Morse Road to Jonathon Court.

Parsons Avenue
2023- New/Renovation Infrastructure: Parsons Avenue: $2 Million
This project consists of the rehabilitation of the existing retaining walls along Parsons Avenue between Hosack Street and Dehring Avenue. Portions of the existing retaining walls will be removed and sidewalk will be reconstructed along the west side of Parsons Avenue. Minor roadway improvements along Lewellyn Avenue are also included in the project.

Sharbot Drive
2024- New Infrastructure: Sharbot Drive: $540,000
This project will install sidewalk and fill in gaps along both sides of Sharbot Drive from west of Carahan Road to Carahan Road.

Tussing Road
2025- New Infrastructure: Tussing Road
This project will add shared-use path along the south side of Tussing Road from Brice Road to Hines Road. Enhanced pedestrian crossings will be provided at Americana Parkway (west intersection) and at the Tussing Elementary School. Sidewalk will be added on the north side of Tussing Road between John Steven Way and Penobscot Boulevard to facilitate access to the enhanced pedestrian crossings.

Walford Street
2024- New Infrastructure: Walford Street: $540,000
This project will install sidewalk and fill in gaps along both sides of Walford Street from Belcher Drive to Morse Road.
