Official, complete weather records for Columbus begin on July 1, 1878. However, incomplete records go back all the way to the 1830s in some cases. These pre-1878 historic weather records, at times, include temperature, precipitation, wind, sky cover, pressure and other observations, though not all months or years are available, and the methods for collecting the data are different than after July 1, 1878.
Additionally, the handwritten data also includes notes about significant weather during each month, adding more context for the time periods.
This data will be provided in its original form here in a series of PDF files in chronological order. Just click on a year to see the available data.
